GOP Ratchets Up It's "Gay People Are The Enemy" Rhetoric...

First, a little swing-state fear-mongering for a sunny Monday afternoon!

Campaign mail with a return address of the Republican National Committee warns West Virginia voters that the Bible will be prohibited and men will marry men if liberals win in November.

The literature shows a Bible with the word "BANNED" across it and a photo of a man, on his knees, placing a ring on the hand of another man with the word "ALLOWED." The mailing tells West Virginians to "vote Republican to protect our families" and defeat the "liberal agenda."

Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie said Friday that he wasn't aware of the mailing, but said it could be the work of the RNC. "It wouldn't surprise me if we were mailing voters on the issue of same-sex marriage," Gillespie said.

Big shocker that Big Ed refuses to condemn this bullshit, eh?

Next, we've got televangelist, fraud, and all-around waste of space Jimmy Swaggert coming down on the side of killing homosexuals who look funny at him...

I'm trying to find the correct name for it ... this utter absolute, asinine, idiotic stupidity of men marrying men. ... I've never seen a man in my life I wanted to marry. And I'm gonna be blunt and plain; if one ever looks at me like that, I'm gonna kill him and tell God he died.

Trust me, it sounds better than it reads...

And finally, a Bush campaign official is confirming what we already knew: There's no room in the Republican party for homosexuals...

Privately, one Bush-Cheney official said the campaign hoped the gay issue would mobilize religious conservatives who did not show up as strongly as some expected in 2000. "Say you lose a thousand voters over the gay issue, you could be possibly mobilizing hundreds of thousands of voters by staying strong on this issue," the national campaign official said.

Log Cabin Republicans: Your party is looking to burn your cabin to the ground.

Will you move before it's too late?
