Greedy Republican Asshole Uses Kid's Charity As Cover...

Take a look at this site. It's the site for the Capital Athletic Foundation (CAF). Here's the foundation's mission statement:

The mission of the Capital Athletic Foundation is to foster character development by promoting the American ideals of sportsmanship in all endeavors. These ideals include integrity, honor, brotherhood, morality, leadership and good citizenship. Sportsmanship is ethical behavior both on and off the playing field; both in athletics and in business; both as a youth and as an adult.

Great idea, isn't it? Teaching kids good sportsmanship is a very noble cause.

Here's the problem: It's all a sham.

Jack Abramoff is the head of the CAF. He's also a prominent GOP lobbyist in Washington. That's OK, too. I don't agree with most (maybe all) GOP lobbyists, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

The problem is that CAF has given LESS THAN ONE PERCENT of it's $6 million dollar revenue toward sports-related programs for kids...

LESS THAN ONE PERCENT!!!

Where has the money been going? Good question:

...documents show that Jack Abramoff, one of Washington's high-powered Republican lobbyists, has repeatedly channeled money from corporate clients into the foundation and spent the overwhelming portion of its money on pet projects having little to do with the advertised sportsmanship programs, including political causes, a short-lived religious school and an overseas golf trip.

And here's the big kicker (no, not Sebastian Janikowski) that you won't believe. Mr. Abramoff is connected to GOP strongman and all-around ethical paragon, Tom DeLay.

Shocking, I tell you. How does trouble always seem to find Tom Delay???

I hear for his next venture, Mr. Abramoff plans on exploiting kids with Down's Syndrome in an effort to get himself a new yacht and maintain Republican control of Congress...
