Random Thoughts: Political and Otherwise...
"Honeymoon In Vegas" is an insanely underrated movie. You've got Sarah Jessica Parker looking terrific a few years before she lost about 30 pounds that she didn't have to lose, causing her face to morph into a drag queen's and her boobs to morph into pancakes. You also have Nicholas Cage before he started taking himself WAY too seriously. Nobody does the "hanging on to the frayed ends of sanity" bit better than him. Also, James Caan plays the tough guy professional gambler REALLY well. Great film...
Healthcare premiums jumped 11.5%. Spin this one, righties! Let me guess: after 4 years of Bush and 2 years of a Republican-controlled Congress, it's Bill Clinton's fault. Right?
Maureen Dowd rips into Dick-less Cheney's mafia-style threat that voting for Kerry will bring about another terrorist attack:
Mr. Cheney implies that John Kerry couldn't protect us from an attack like 9/11, blithely ignoring the fact that he and President Bush didn't protect us from the real 9/11.
The Sports Guy is doing his NFL preview "Goodfellas"-style this year. Sweeeeeeeeet...
P.S. Did I mention my name appears in one of The Sports Guy's recent columns? True, he's not talking about me, but how can you not laugh when you see this written out in black and white:
"This I do know. I've spent 250 to 300 hours running my team, another 100 wondering if Brian Anderson is possessed by Satan..."
You can't put a price tag on something like that...
