Kerry Nails Bush On Losing Al-Zarqawi...

This is a very stinging indictment. It's also one that our president has no answer to...

A CIA report found no clear link between Saddam's regime and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the terrorist behind the beheadings of Americans in Iraq and now an al Qaeda ally.

Before the war, the administration claimed that Zarqawi’s presence in Iraq was proof of an Al Qaeda-Saddam collaboration. That was wrong.

In fact, Zarqawi was operating out of a no-man’s land in North Eastern Iraq… next to territory controlled by America’s Kurdish allies… not by Saddam. He and his terrorist allies were reportedly producing Ricin, a horrific biological weapon. We could have… but did not… take them out. That was a terrible mistake that this administration has never explained.

Back in March of this year, it came to light that the National Security Council scrapped a plan to take out al-Zarqawi BEFORE the invasion. Why was it scrapped?

Military officials insist their case for attacking Zarqawi’s operation was airtight, but the administration feared destroying the terrorist camp in Iraq could undercut its case for war against Saddam.

The United States did attack the camp at Kirma at the beginning of the war, but it was too late — Zarqawi and many of his followers were gone. “Here’s a case where they waited, they waited too long and now we’re suffering as a result inside Iraq,” (Roger) Cressey added.

And despite the Bush administration’s tough talk about hitting the terrorists before they strike, Zarqawi’s killing streak continues today.

In summary: The administration wanted you to believe there was a connection between Saddam and al-Zarqawi.

There wasn't...

They could have taken out this threat before the invasion.

They didn't...

The administration wants you to believe they are interested in defeating terrorism.

They aren't...
