Is A "Blue Scare" Beginning Right Here In North Carolina?

I wouldn't have believed such a thing was possible a few years ago...

Apparently, a minister in Waynesville, NC is looking to rid his congregation of anyone who voted for John Kerry in 2004 and/or supports the Democratic party.

The story appeared on WLOS-TV and has been independently verified by several members of the church who say they were targeted for expulsion from the church.

I'd like to say I'm making this up, but you can watch the video and draw your own conclusions.

If this is all true, "Blue Scare" may not be too strong a description...

UPDATE: WLOS-TV has added the story to their website, although with very few details...
East Waynesville Baptist asked nine members to leave. Now 40 more have left the church in protest. Former members say Pastor Chan Chandler gave them the ultimatum, saying if they didn't support George Bush, they should resign or repent. The minister declined an interview with News 13. But he did say "the actions were not politically motivated." There are questions about whether the bi-laws were followed when the members were thrown out.
