Dubya Sinks Even Deeper Across The Country...

SurveyUSA is back again with presidential approval ratings for all 50 states.

You might recall that they did this back in June. At that point, Bush carried a positive rating in only 17 states.

The new data shows Dubya with a positive rating in only 7 states, an even rating in 2 states, and a negative rating in a whopping 41 states.

Using the analysis I put together back in June, I'd like to update a couple of points:

In those ten states, Democrats must get good candidates into the field next year.

They've already done this in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, but if they can't recruit viable candidates in those other seven states (especially Ohio, where Mike DeWine will face a tough GOP primary opponent), then they deserve to be a minority party for a long time...

UPDATE: MyDD has a fascinating breakdown of an interesting phenomenon in the SurveyUSA poll. In all 50 states, independents' views of Bush more closely align with Democrats than with those of Republicans.

Every...single...state...
