GOP Paragon Of Virtue Has An Idea For Reducing Crime In America...

Don't let the Tom DeLay indictment distract you, there's plenty of GOP scum trolling the American political landscape.

Take Bill Bennett for starters. He's been an arbiter of conservative GOP morality for years now. He finds himself so damn virtuous, he actually wrote a book called "The Book of Virtues".

Sadly, Mr. Bennett's high standard of morality took a bit of a hit (no pun intended) when it came to light that he had a wee bit of a gambling problem. By "wee bit" I mean he lost millions of dollars in casinos over the years.

Is doubling down on an 11 considered a "virtue" or just common sense?

Now that Bennett's gambling storm has blown over, he's on to bigger and better things, like ridding America of crime. Here's an idea Mr. Bennett shared on his national radio program yesterday:

I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.

Fascism is indeed tricky, Mr. Bennett...
