House expands definition of hate crimes...
Good on them.
By a 237-180 margin, the House of Representatives voted to expand the definition of "hate crimes" to include gender and sexual orientation.
Predictably, The Commander Guy is threatening to veto the bill, should it pass the Senate.
P.S. As great a step as this vote is, I was disappointed to see that two North Carolina Democrats, Heath Shuler and Mike McIntyre, as well as 12 other Democrats voted against this important piece of legislation.
I always expect more from my party, so that's a real bummer...
