If one of the VA trio becomes the VP nominee it will likely be Kaine or Webb. Warner is needed too much to get the other Senate seat, which may signal that Webb is not going to be pulled from the Senate. But Webb helps with the demographic that is most in play between McCain and Obama - independent/centrist males. There is little concern that the Senate will tilt more Republican - they are defending twice as many seats as Dems - so Webb may be in play , especially given his legislative victory on his GI bill. (The bill may die/get vetoed, but it's main provisions will pass under this president or the next.)

Personally, I like Kaine or Webb as a VP pick, but would rather see Obama choose KS Governor Sebelius. Just not Hillary...
