Imagine A Senate Without McConnell or Stevens...
I wonder if you can.... ever since Rick Santorum and George Allen were ousted, McConnell has been atop my list of "Senators I would love to see defeated." Stevens leaving with him - via electoral defeat, not retirement - would be a real bonus. Even Al Franken is seriously challenging Norm Coleman and while I wouldn't mind seeing Coleman go, I don't really know what to make of Franken. If he could held the Dems get 60 and still let them oust Joe Lieberman from their caucus, though, I will happily take my chances. And Bruce Reed has interesting thoughts on why 60 is not as magic as it is played up to be.
