Official Donnybrook 2008 Election Prediction Thread...
Since I'm a big believer in early voting, we'll start this a day early.
Here we go!!!
President
Senator Barack Obama (D)
318 Electoral Votes
52.6% of Popular Vote
Senator John McCain (R)
220 Electoral Votes
46.2% of Popular Vote
Obama will win all the states that John Kerry won in 2004, and will pick up Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, Nevada and Florida.
Senate
The Democrats will pick up seats in New Mexico, New Hampshire, Virginia, Colorado, Alaska, Oregon, and North Carolina, but will fall just short in Minnesota, Mississippi, Kentucky and Georgia. The Republicans will pick up zero seats.
Democrats 56
Republicans 42
Independents 2 (Although you might see Joe Lieberman get the boot from the Democratic caucus)
House
The Democrats will pick up 23 seats, while the Republicans will snag 2.
