Trying to Help Obama in the News Cycle?

The first one is local, so I lead with it; it's your basic cut-a-deal political corruption. At least Hamilton was courteous enough to make his impropriety obvious to everyone. His transparency/sheer stupidity probably saved the NN taxpayers around a half million bucks.

Then there are the reliable Repub self-destructors:

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford rebuffed his lieutenant governor's call to resign Wednesday, two months after he admitted an affair, saying he will not be "railroaded" out of office and plans to finish his term.

The longer this guy stays in office, the happier Dems should be. His closest ally, Ballentine, told him to resign. He is a nightmare for the GOP and the more rambling press conferences he calls, the better.
